Taylor Seniors Awarded 122K in Scholarships

tcrow@taylorisd.org    Thanks to the generosity of the Taylor Community, Taylor ISD awarded local scholarships to sixty-seven seniors totaling $122,000. Scholarships were announced in a virtual ceremony this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

New scholarships added in 2020 include the Rex Schneider Memorial Scholarship, the Travis Miller Memorial Scholarship and the THS Class of ’88 scholarship.

While the number of scholarships have increased over the years, several have been in existence for a very long time. The Melasky scholarship began in 1956, Gernert began in 1961, and the Ruth Schroeder Memorial Scholarship started in 1974.

Anyone interested in contributing toward an existing scholarship, or establishing a new scholarship, is encouraged to contact Jina Self at jself@taylorisd.org
